1-2-1 Performance Support
Our strength and conditioning support is designed to reduce the likelihood of injury and improve sports performance. This includes working on areas such as strength, power, speed, conditioning, flexibility, and injury prevention training. We believe anyone from the enthusiastic amateur to the elite professional can improve their sporting performance through improving their physical qualities and competencies.
We provide highly qualified and experienced strength and conditioning coaches to deliver support to all athletes from the amateur to elite. We will design the programme around the needs of the athlete in relation to their sport, their training history and their sport specific training programme. We use testing batteries to assess our athletes at the start of the programme and monitor progress over time thereafter, this includes movement screening and testing qualities such as strength, power, speed, agility, and fitness as appropriate.
The programme will be lead by Ashley Downing, who is an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach with the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association. Ash has experience working with international and national level athletes in several sports including basketball, football, rugby league, hockey, rugby union, climbing, javelin, and boxing. Ash has most recently been Head of Strength and Conditioning at Rotherham Titans RUFC, managing the physical development and performance of professional rugby players competing in the Greene King IPA Championship. Ash is now growing AD-Performance and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Scottish Rugby Union Exiles programme managing the development of their U16-U20 international players in England and Wales.
